TUTORING
Hope’s tutoring program includes 1st grade through high school students and meets each Monday evening during the school year from 5:00-6:30 pm. The focus of the tutoring program is to assist students with homework, and to target areas of need with specific emphasis on reading and math. In the absence of homework, a curriculum of study is prepared for each student.
A tutor is paired with one student for the entire school year. In an environment where students have the undivided attention of their tutors, kids enjoy our tutoring sessions and also participate in lively discussions of relevant life issues during the 30-minute devotional time. These one-on-one relationships provide tremendous opportunities for mentoring.

KIDS ACROSS AMERICA CAMP
Each year, Hope Unlimited sends 50-90 young people (ages 9-18) to Kids Across America (KAA) Camp at Table Rock Lake.
KAA is noted as one of the nation's best Christian camps for urban youth. Campers participate in exciting athletic and character-building endeavors, and their changed lives become a testimony to their families and to their community.
CHRISTMAS AND EASTER COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS
The annual Easter and Christmas party celebrations are community wide family events. The Christmas celebration observes and celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ and is designed especially to reach and to bring joy to children of all ages and ethnic backgrounds in the Kirkwood-Meacham Park area. A puppet show about the birth and significance of Christ is the main feature and holds the attention of children as well as adults. Santa always shows up for pictures and brings presents(mittens/gloves, warm caps and bikes). Last Christmas over 120 people participated in each celebration.
FIELD TRIPS
Field trips are intended to: (1) enrich the lives of our kids; (2) stimulate their intellectual and spiritual development; (3) further their education; (4) broaden their positive experience base; (5) teach good citizenship and character; and, (6) promote wholesome fun. We have taken field trips to the University of Missouri-Columbia and other colleges, attended Christian Day at the ballpark with the St. Louis Cardinals, and attended multiple athletic events at Kirkwood High School.
